Today was a very nice day, but this is exactly why I won’t tell you much about it. Instead, I would like you to think about today’s story. Reflect on it. If you find it triggering, ask yourself why that is. I am a strong believer that literature can help us learn things about ourselves, about the world we live in, about ‘alternative’ realities which seem so far away from us, but so close to others.

Not exactly a ‘Christmas’ story for it takes place on New Year’s Eve, but perhaps if it took place on Christmas it would’ve been different… This is one of the few stories I knew before, but I haven’t read it in years. It’s heartbreaking… When you read it, hang onto every word, feel the story, and then take a moment to think about it.
