This was a wonderful book. A book which opened some Pandora's boxes inside of me. I read 184 pages in one sitting, back in January. I finished it today (26 August).
It is non-fiction, could actually be labelled as personal development and psychology, written by one of my favourite Romanian authors who is also a psychotherapist. She talks about her life but puts so many things in a theoretical context that invites you to reflection and self-reflection. She had other non-fiction/auto-biographical books and it's really interesting to see her return to some of the episodes she narrated in the past but from a slightly different perspective.
The bit that made me pause the book for 8 months was a text about her grandmother. About losing her grandmother. It came at a time when I was just finishing therapy where I explored my own grief after losing my own grandmother. I scream cried in the most freeing way. But then I was afraid to pick it back up.
Today I finished it. I wish this book (and many more by Petronela and other Romanian authors) would be available in English. A longer review of the book is available in Romanian only.
