A Parcel from Home

Being ‘at home’ in two different countries with completely different cultures can be pure happiness. Probably one of the nicest moments is when you manage to combine the two.

Yesterday evening we received a parcel from our parents. I was so excited about this! Because of the lockdown, we couldn’t get anything from home since the beginning of March. I was running out of my favourite cereal and I missed the amazing coconut sweets made by V’s grandma. British food is amazing, but it’s different from Romanian food.

Also, I’ve said this before - two languages/homes/cultures mean twice the number of books you can read. My mother ordered some books for isolation and she needed some more to get free delivery so I ordered two books by Ana Barton, a Romanian author I’ve been following on Social Media for a while and I wanted to read her books.

Now I have food and (even more) new books from home at home. Happiness comes from small things.
