After wind and rain, the sun finally decided to shine in the room. I missed a little natural light to inspire me. Some clouds are calmly passing above the church tower and it is probably going to rain again, but the sun is slowly setting so that will not be a problem.

Now that it’s getting dark outside, it’s the perfect time to make tea and spend the rest of the evening with a book or a film. But never the film after reading the book and never the book after watching the film. I always regret breaking this rule of mine. Yesterday, I watched Pet Sematary (2019), and a while ago, I watched If I Stay, and the first few episodes of 13 Reasons Why, after falling in love with their books. I am so annoyed by all the changes, although I know they are necessary for adaptations. The same thing happens if I watch the film first and then try to read the book. I just couldn’t finish Hunger Games or White Fang, for example.

I’m unsure why screenwriters sometimes change huge, important bits of the original story. Maybe one day I will understand, but until then books will be books and films will be films. If I read the book, I will not watch the film and vice-versa.

Although I might try Emma just because I am curious how it will look on the screen.
