Today the weather conditions forced me to close the window and read fully inside the room. It rained for a few minutes, it’s windy and the sun is playing hide-and-seek behind clouds. Not really the time to stay with your windows open. Natural light is also scarce today so I will probably have to read from the bed for the rest of the day.
Yesterday I started reading Sapiens - A Brief History of Humankind. This time it’s only 466 pages, but it’s not an easy book. There’s a lot of information to process. So far I can tell you that knowing our past can really change the way we shape our future. We’ve evolved so much but now, our generation is responsible to fix the damage that we’ve done to nature over the past millenniums.
I’m surprised how many things happened in prehistory and no one teaches us anything about it. The first chapter of history books briefly mentions our ancestors, then in chapter two, we’re already fully functional humans. That’s not how it happened. "Perhaps if more people were aware of the first wave and second wave extinctions, they'd be less nonchalant about the third wave they are part of".
