Collab & DEIS UK

Haven’t had a proper chat regarding DEIS UK with my business mentor in a very long while. I really needed this. These meetings with Maurice give me structure and make me think outside the box. It’s so important to have someone bringing a completely different perspective to the table.

One of the reasons why the DEIS UK journey has started already although I was envisioning this 3 or 5 years down the road, is that the support network that grew around me - especially through Collab and DEIS RO - made me feel confident enough and to know that even if something fails, someone will be there to pick me up. It also became very clear that DEIS UK is a need. When I came to London, I thought that what I wanted to do was already being done and it would just be another offer on a very long list. Turns out I was wrong.

The work that DEIS UK can do as well as DEIS UK + Collab or Collab alone can do is… WOW! On our own we are covering so many different gaps and together we are covering so many others. I might be dreaming too big, but I am sure we can change the world in a valuable way.

And this is my first realisation as a 21 year old.
