Cracks in Safety

Being a woman is a risk. Not everywhere and not at all times, but in many places and mostly at night. Men are at risk too. Although I am all supportive of men and I always talk about how gender stereotypes are horribly wrong, right now I’m highly concerned about the situation of women in Romania. Statistically, womanhood is much riskier.
Recently a 17-year-old girl was set on fire by a man whom she reported for raping her. The man was supposed to be imprisoned for life after murdering 5 people, but he was released last year because of a corrupted law. Many other murderers and rapists were released last year. Corruption and indifference make cases like this happen again and again.
I wanted to write an article about this, but I decided to write a short story. I’ll work on it and hopefully post it later today.
