After the weekend we had to go shopping because our fridge was almost empty… and so was everything else.

The bus was almost empty and it had an amazingly clean smell. I read that public transport was empty even during rush hour as most people work from home now and universities (including mine) moved to online teaching.

Starbucks, Costa, McDonald’s - empty. We stopped at McDonald’s to get a snack and there were not more than 10 people inside. It was 2 pm so it was usually full of people at that hour.

Supermarkets? EMPTY. People were shopping, but many shelves were empty. From two stores we managed to buy everything we need until the end of the week. I hope they will be able to rebuild their stock soon.

Anyway, what I noticed is that people are taking self-isolation seriously here. Most of them are only out to shop, walk their dogs or other urgent things.
