A few months ago, I was writing on the Blog at the end of an article on Jane Eyre that ‘if I am ever going to write an essay about Jane Eyre for university (and I’ll probably have the opportunity), I will not be afraid to say that this is a novel about youth work and teenage, although they are hidden beneath layers of drama and tragedies.’

Exam no. 2 has a slightly different structure:

  • For Section A we need to analyse a fragment from Wide Sargasso Sea

  • For Section B we need to choose 1 out of 8 essay topics.

I didn’t even have to go through the tough step of choosing - Question 7 was love at first sight. It’s time to talk about youth, youth work, and teenage life in Jane Eyre. As you might have guessed, I am once again very excited about writing.

Therefore, I shall dive into some secondary sources and get to work. Get ready for some more guests while I do this!
