*A Fast-Book, just like Fast-Food, is a book that can be read easily, without much effort and it also „tastes” good. Any book can be a Fast-Book if you are a fast reader.
I am a fast reader. I learnt to focus on the story-line instead of words and phrases. If something doesn’t make sense, I go back a few lines and look again, but you rarely need to absorb each and every bit. Every year I go through a few months of intensive reading, usually in the spring. By “intensive” I mean at least 400 pages in one week. However, “spring intensive reading” has been going on since last year because starting uni didn’t mean I had to stop. On the contrary, I’ve been reading even more.

As I am waiting for my Lord of the Flies to arrive in a few days, I needed to read something that I could be sure won’t take much time. I got Pablo the Alpaca - Scrisoarea (Pablo the Alpaca - the Letter) as a Christmas gift. Yesterday evening I decided it was time to read it. Two and a half hours later, I finished the book. 142 pages. And it was so much fun! At 19 years old, I don’t think I was quite the target audience for the cute animal narrative, but it was so relaxing. I missed a simple story. It has complex characters inspired from real-life, interesting plot twists and it keeps you reading. Have I mentioned that the characters are dogs, cats and an alpaca? Perfect Saturday night read!
