I finished ‘1984’ at half-past midnight. The ending was just perfect. Hopeless. And the whole book. Perfectly written. I was wondering what would Orwell think of today’s world where we often willingly give up our privacy.

I was planning to start working on a personal project about Romanian literature. But I’m waiting for my parents to send me some books and the first few texts I am going to look at are short stories or novellas which won’t take long to read.

So, I started another book. Fantasy. Very well written fantasy. The main character is Lyra. And people in this world have guardian entities called daemons taking the form of animals. How cool is this? Philip Pullman’s trilogy - ‘His Dark Materials’ - has been recommended to me as another meaning for the Lyra on my shoulder blade. It’s all three volumes in one so this book is quite thick, but something’s telling me I’ll finish it sooner than expected.
