I hate starting essays...

I highlight quotes and ideas, I research, I plan then plan again. I always know everything I want to write, I even know how to connect my paragraphs. I know what my conclusion will be. I think I’m ready to write my essay. I take all the books and notes I need and I open my laptop.

There is only one thing I don’t know. The first sentence. The beginning of the beginning. I never know how to start. After half an hour of writing and deleting words and sentences, I finally have the first sentence. I write my introduction. 150 words. My brain is exhausted. But that’s okay, the other 2350 words will flow. Tomorrow or on Monday. I need one day to write the first 150 words and one day to write the rest of 2350 words.
Also, I always end up highlighting too many quotes, although I promise I only highlight the important bits. But that’s fine, so does Jeanine. Look at all those important bits!
