Laptop-book

I usually print all the resources I want to read before writing an essay. I like to highlight and take notes and draw lines and, more than anything, I like being surrounded by an entire ex-forest.
But I don’t have a printer at home and I’m avoiding going outside as much as I can. That’s how I discovered OneNote and how to use my laptop for reading. I analysed how today’s research went and came to some conclusions.
ADVANTAGES:
- no paper = no dead trees
- everything stays organised and I can’t lose papers
- I can copy-paste quotes into my essay, I don’t need to type them
- when I can’t find something I can use the search function
DISADVANTAGES:
- it is easy to scroll past important things
- it is hard to add handwritten notes on the text so you need to type them (it’s not as easy as handwriting when you like to draw arrows and random lines)
- limited battery life
Thus, the advantages of the laptop-book exceed the disadvantages. In the future, I might give up printing scholarly articles and use this new technique instead. However, my laptop will never replace my physical library. I love my books and the experience of reading them.
