You know Mins - she was one of the #guests while I was busy with my exams. She’s one of those people who just can’t stop something and she uses all her energy to get involved in the community one way or another.
Recently she has been telling me about her experience with #piritachildren. She is one of the volunteers who help children from a poor community that lives on the outskirts of Baia Mare with online learning and homework (they had to adapt during the pandemic). I read many stories about these kids on social media as the organisation that supports them openly talks about the needs in the community, but talking to Mins made me understand the situation much better. These people are literally excluded from our society. Everywhere they go, they are stigmatised and discriminated. Their behaviour is sometimes violent or hateful, but who is to blame?
‘These kids are still kids. With a little work and attention from us, they can achieve heights that will surprise us. I suggest that we put away all barriers and prejudice that we impose on ourselves and love more, empathise more and care more.’ (Mins)
