My Feathered Neighbours

There are two windows in the room - the roof window where I sunbathe and the other window where I can see our yard, our neighbours’ yards and it’s the favourite spot for all my feathered neighbours.

I go to sleep early so I wake up around 7 every morning. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping as if it’s the end of time. Sometimes their music is the perfect background noise for quiet mornings. But some other times… these birds have full discussions with other birds.

Bird 1 (under my window): Oh my, have you heard about those pigeons down the street? I heard they killed someone.

Bird 2 (somewhere further away): What? I haven’t heard anything, sister. Please tell me!

Bird 1: Listen here, sis! *continuous chirping for 15 minutes*

The problem with these bird talks is that it really doesn’t sound musical at all! They’re just screaming at each other. Bird 2 usually gives me enough time to get absorbed by my book and completely disconnect from all sounds around, then all of a sudden Bird 1 starts shouting and I lose all my focus. I would be very grateful if Bird 1 could either continuously make noise so I can ignore her properly or just shut up while I read. Thank you.
