Since it’s once again nice and sunny here in London I decided to spend some time outside, reading of course. I was doing the research for my Ro-Lit project and today I finished reading my secondary sources for the first text.
Romanian scholars are so different from English scholars. The style is different, the length of their work, the message they send across etc. I had a harder time understanding a text written in 1989 in my native language than nineteenth-century English classics. Why use long, complicated phrases for something you can express in a few words?
I’ll soon sit down to write my essay on this story (probably at the beginning of next week) and then I’ll move on to a novella.
