Some books simply take longer than others

Some books simply take longer than others and it’s so interesting to think about it. I’ve read more than 700 pages in one week, but in more than two weeks I’ve managed to read less than half of Homo Deus. The book is amazing and every time I start reading I can’t stop. Then why does it take so long?

To tell you the truth, in the last few days I had a tendency to get stuck on social media. So many things are happening around the world at the moment, that every time I open my phone I see countless articles, opinions and updates. I love reading what people think all the time, even more in times of crisis. And so that is how I spend my mornings. In the evenings I dedicated some time to writing. The short story I posted yesterday (https://bit.ly/me-me-you-en) took me two days to write and translate.

I didn’t go far from literature anyway - whether I read social media posts on my phone or I’m writing. It’s still a bit annoying that I just can’t finish the book, but it’s just a matter of time until I will pick it up and devour the rest of it. It’s always like this.
