The day before my birthday

The day before my birthday is always special in some way. Sometimes it’s about the people I spend the day with, other times it’s about the things I do. But there is something else that I realised this year. On this day, 3 years ago, J and I decided we will do DEIS UK. We have it on camera.

It was Day 0 of the NonFormal Festival - a national festival dedicated to nonformal education. After a few days of calling participants and seeing their names in spreadsheets, it was the day when we finally got to meet them. That whole festival was an awesome experience, although it was stressful and tiresome.

‘Tomorrow’ was going to be my eighteenth birthday. One hundred people from the whole of Romania singing Happy Birthday to me. Tomorrow I am turning twenty-one and starting DEIS UK in just a few days.
