I woke up this morning as I usually do. One day left until my 20th birthday. My Mother messages me - ‘Can you, please, go downstairs and check the door?’. There was nothing there yet, but I came back upstairs, opened my window and kept looking out until a van pulled up in front of the house. Outside, a huge box was waiting for me.
Flowers. Many beautiful flowers. And a vase and a teddy bear. He shall be named Bex. The process of putting the flowers in the vase with water was much more complicated than I expected. The flowers came with instructions! I hope I will manage to take care of them for as long as possible, but one thing is certain - I can take care of Bex.
Turning 20 during a pandemic is strange, but it’s a great opportunity to learn and discover new things like taking care of flowers.
