The joy of reading on the bus

Few things in life make me calmer than sitting at the front of the upper deck of a bus on a sunny day and reading. There’s a certain magic to it. The rest of the bus disappears and it’s just you and your book. Having a good book (like the one I’m reading now) definitely helps, but it’s not mandatory. And the fact that today I was on the bus for a good 45 minutes x 2 was just enough time to get absorbed. Twice.

Working from home has its advantages, but I so much prefer to meet people face to face. One of the reasons is that face to face = travel, whether it’s a short walk or a bus/train/tube ride. It’s funny how much I love driving, but at the same time I would never give up on the relaxing experience of reading on public transport.
