If yesterday was about exploring nature, today was about exploring Frankenstein and nature as female and gender role inversions and Mary Shelley. It was a rainy and windy day (88 - 102 km/h) so I spent it surrounded by books.

This is the first time I go this deep behind a book and/or author. I’ve read 7 scholarly articles about Frankenstein and I want to print and read 3 more this week. I’m happy that I found evidence to support my theory about the novel (as I promised, I will write an article about it after I am done with the essay).

Researching can be really fun when you are passionate about the subject and when you find articles that are simply a pleasure to read. My favourite articles are the ones where the critic seems to be your equal, your friend who knows a lot about something and shares their knowledge with you. Simple explanations, without complicated words, are often the most valuable when it comes to something as abstract as literature.
