What am I doing today?

Working on my dissertation, of course. I’m ⅔ done with yet another chapter. I have ⅓ out of this, one more full chapter, and the conclusion. And then one or more thorough editing sessions. Not too shabby, I’d say.

I would’ve thought that by now I would be hating my topic and making posts about the dissertation. But I’m not. Every chapter comes with something different. This one, for example, took me through YA/rom-com reviews, opinions about Wattpad, and analysis of Bookstagram and Booktok.

This has also made me very interested in the Book-stagram/-tok phenomena. It’s a nice combo between anthropology, (digital) youth (work), and literature. I’m tempted to start digging deeper into this and see what I can come up with. Could this be my PhD? Perhaps. Masters dissertation? Not sure, I’d rather do something more youth work-ish. But we shall see.
