This is Youth Work Week in the UK and I’ve been doing a lot of (digital) youth work in the last few days. I was part of an information and consultation event - Play Cafe - where we talked to young people from Baia Mare about the services that are available for them and what their needs are. I did nonformal education, co-facilitating a leadership workshop and as an ‘open book’ for a human library-style session. I’m not sure if I’ve done counselling, but that often happens so subtly that I don’t even realise I’ve done it. The three services provided by youth workers: information, nonformal education, and counselling.

The more I do this, the more I love it. I need to sit down and write my personal statement and apply for that MA in Applied Anthropology, Youth and Community Work. It’s going to be fantastic!
